question:

Ethiopian mystery bird will be a challenge to identify because it is part of a group of bird species that closely resemble to another. However, that being said, the family of this bird are fairly easy to recognize, and this particular species has a field mark that is unique among the relatives of Ethiopia, a country which is a visible sign on the photograph. What brand of field is it? Can you identify this bird taxonomic family and species?

response:

is smaller than an adult Masked Weaver

Ploceus intermedius

a sparrow Ploceidae standing on the weaver or weaver finches birds. The weavers are well known for their nests fabrics.

The lower masked weaver is common and widespread in the savannah acacia woodlands, riparian trees, reeds, marshes and mangroves which extend all the way to Ethiopia South Africa. These birds are primarily insectivorous and have a penchant for caterpillars and nectar, and obtain their food by gleaning prey on foliage and flowers in the trees.
under masked weavers are polygamous and colonial. The nests are woven with grass in round flasks with an entrance on the bottom. Male nest structure built on the basis of the small end of a branch or sometimes a telephone cable, and often suspended above the water, which is used to attract females. If it considers the nest itself, which then adds the finishing touches to the nest before producing a clutch of eggs.
