Lansley forced to assist struggling NHS trusts

National Audit Office issues warning at least 20 trusts are not "economically viable or clinically"

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley is to provide grants to keep essential services going in the health service, such as the National Audit Office (NAO) warned that at least 20 NHS trusts do are not "economically or clinically viable in its current form. "

The watchdog of public spending, said the government challenged the NHS to find savings of £ 20000000000 in March 2015, while hospitals work towards Foundation Trust status. Ensure that the NHS is entirely composed of foundations charitable foundations, private companies and suppliers is key Lansley plans, under which hospitals will compete with each other for patients.

The NAO said the NHS trying to get the status of the foundation were approximately £ 1.5 billion in efficiency gains this year. Last year, when the NHS was still seeing increased spending, the government had to rescue the 16 trusts to help them break even with £ 90m of taxpayers' cash.

The situation is much worse this year, of 113 NHS trusts, the NAO warns that "up to 36 may need £ 376m loan facility" to ensure that you have enough money to operate in the health of the new function Lansley.

He says more than a fifth of NHS hospitals had a cumulative debt level is an "obstacle to the achievement of foundation status."

in Cambridgeshire, Hinchingbrooke trust is being delivered to a private company, Circle of Health. Three other trusts are not yet providing solutions to their difficulties.

Lansley should establish a support program for the control of the NHS hospital later this year. Sources familiar with the health secretary said that while "national support will further the work of NHS organizations to help them overcome their problems."

London rates particularly poorly. Over 60% of trusts in the capital have not yet attained the status NHS Foundation Trust - the biggest challenge for a single region

Parents accused of swapping twins jailed for child cruelty

Karolia

and Nafisa Mohammed, who has denied switching babies to cover unexplained injuries, sentenced to five years in prison

A couple accused of health professionals repeatedly deceived by exchanging their twins to cover unexplained injuries that led to the death of a baby has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of cruelty to children.

Karolia

and Nafisa Mohammed, of Blackburn, Lancashire, had denied abusing the girl seven months old, who died in June 2009. But they were convicted at Preston Crown Court in July after a five-week trial after the jury deliberated for less than six hours.

The trial heard that the couple tried to cover unexplained injuries baby to social services and health visitors by exchanging the babies when they called home. None of the children can be identified for legal reasons.

their judgment on Monday, Judge Irwin said it was unclear if the exchange took place, but what mattered was that the child was injured and the victims, while the other child was "well maintained."

The judge said. "Only you two if both or one of those who led and inflicted injuries either it is true, you certainly knew what was happening, I knew it was wrong, gave the encouragement and hid him and continued to deny. "

The couple will be released on license half of their prison sentences and having to comply with an extended license period of five years.

They vehemently denied any exchange of baby, who was described by his legal team "capricious" and "crazy-".

two chose not to testify. They insist on their innocence and do not think the other was responsible for injuries, but the trial was told that nobody cared for children.

During the trial, the prosecutor Joe Boyd, said the exchange of identity is discovered as a result of differences in measurements of head, weight and height taken in advance of twins - known as the double M and A. Double

Double M

died after suffering numerous unexplained injuries such as broken ribs, legs and arms and damage to the skull that affects the brain and central nervous system.

She also had an ulcer in the mouth, unexplained ear scratching, bleeding in the eye and nose injuries that were "unusual", with the damaged tissue suggesting that had been crushed by the same strength on both sides by a pin or clip.

The broken bones that would have occurred between 24 hours and six weeks before death, while a post-mortem examination found she died of bronchopneumonia.

The victim had been only parental care as a matter of a couple of hours in his short life.

Boyd said injuries could theoretically have been accidental, but the number, the time scale and the lack of explanation of them suggested that deliberately inflicted by one or both parents.

When questioned by police, Nafisa Karolia, 22, said he noticed nothing unusual about her daughter, in addition to a runny nose. His 29-year-old husband echoes this.
Suzanne Goddard QC

representing Karolia Nafisa said that all his three surviving children were taken from her and it was unlikely to have a more prolonged contact.

Karolia said Goddard had been abused by his mother and brother.

Manchester City 2-0 Everton

The gap between the have's and have followed the path of the money men, it is not surprising, but Everton made their opponents work hard for the victory that keeps them privileged in their heels rivals Manchester.

was halfway through the second half before Mario Balotelli, as a substitute, scored the first with a razor finish from outside the penalty area. James Milner, also put on the bench, added the second two minutes remaining.

David Moyes said in advance it would be foolish to try to Everton to face their opponents in a stellar passing game built. Instead, he tried to close its doors and the city of Harry from when they had possession, often defending with 10 men behind the ball. Equally significant, Jack Rodwell Moyes used the mark of David Silva, man for man, with good results. To his credit, Everton played decent football of their own, keeping the ball on the ground wherever possible and looking for Marouane Fellaini hit when it was not.

sterile first half was especially remarkable for a reserve for bonuses Phil Neville, who contacted insignificant Silva, only for the Spaniard to take a play machine that smelled of the simulation. As expected, the City has done most of the attacker, but neither goalkeeper was called upon to make a decision until the 35th minute when a shot from inside Sergio Aguero has been pushed to the left around Tim Howard's post. This attempt to distance, the other just before the break saw Edin Dzeko and Yaya Toure, both shot at the bar and Gareth Barry Howard draws directly from a distance.

Meanwhile, the city had to change something to break the deadlock. Her abuser was remarkably short in width, but instead of introducing James Milner who sent the Balotelli of Dzeko, the substitution of one for another striker.

All this shows that Roberto Mancini is a better judge than any expert. Within seven minutes of their arrival, the city had to Balotelli Agüero and receive low shot into the right corner of Howard on the edge of the D. Ahead, at the last, the city was within inches of doubling the margin two minutes later when Silva hit the base of the left post from Howard.

Everton huffed and puffed to no avail, and Yaya Toure, 25 meters has an economy of the accident Milner Howard before finally pushed to 2-0 in 89 minutes.

She was joined in his appeal by his former Italian boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, who was sentenced to 25 years.

stapling
evidence at the trial of Knox and Sollecito included a trace of his DNA on Kercher bra clip and a knife, the prosecution claimed was the murder weapon, which carries DNA of the accused and his alleged victim.

They found that DNA Sollecito may have reached the clip, who identified himself only an airtight bag and 46 days after the body was discovered, through a process of contamination. They said the third trace of DNA on the knife, which Sollecito was in the kitchen was too small to be attributed with certainty to Kercher.

As I said about Schmeichel [Peter], had the same experience and I saw it through and will not [De Gea] no harm. "

Davies has already spoken to the teenage defender Phil Jones "will be", but Ferguson said he was not worried.
